It works just like a Google Home smart speaker — it can play music, tell you about the news or weather, set alarms, and control your smart home devices – but the addition of its 7-inch touchscreen gives it extra abilities; you can ask “Hey Google” to show you videos on YouTube, directions on Google Maps, or live feeds from your Nest security cameras. The Google Nest Hub also integrates seamlessly with Google Photos and can work as a digital picture frame when idle. The other neat thing is that Google Nest Hub does not have a camera, so you can be comfortable placing it on your nightstand and using it as a smart alarm clock.
It’s worth pointing out that the Google Nest Hub and the Google Home Hub are the same product. In an effort to get its smart home brand uniformly under the “Nest” name, Google renamed the Home Hub to the Nest Hub earlier this year.
