I don’t like running. I don’t think anyone does, really. One of its only saving graces has been that it’s something I can do while all the gyms are closed. (I stare longingly at my YMCA at least weekly. I miss you, squats.) So, like a good boy, I’ve been pounding the pavement. Enough so, in fact, that I’ve worn down my shoes a good deal.
I’d just about convinced myself I’d be good to take a break from running because of the sad state of my shoes, and then New Balance had to go and have a Memorial Day sale. Those punks over in Boston have discounted a host of their road and trail running shoes by 25 percent. 25 percent! 25 percent. I can’t afford not to buy those shoes. I can’t afford not to run through this summer.
Oh well. Catch me on Strava putting up mediocre mile times, I guess.
