Since it debuted in 2014, the quiet-but-impactful Adidas SPZL sub-line has pulled rare, obscure or previously thought lost silhouettes from the brand’s own archive, remixing and revising them for the modern day.

The sub-label rarely collaborates with outside forces, which makes the new END. x adidas New York II Outdoor SPZL Sneaker so special.

Considering its compelling design language and build, it’s no surprise that the ’80s-inspired sneaker has already sold out on End.’s own website. However, if you look hard enough, there are still pairs of this distinctive collab floating around online.

The New York II Outdoor SPZL is built on the New York II Outdoor, which was originally released in the ’80s as a highly obscure running shoe.

Today’s reinterpretation embraces a trail-ready ’80s look with its teal textile upper, which is grounded by black suede overlays, leather sage striping and khaki details.

The model features a distinctive, signature Dellinger Web midsole, which was developed by Adidas in partnership with legendary track coach Bill Dellinger.

To drive the partnership home, the shoe features co-branding on the tongue and insole.

There are also two lace sets that come with the style: one light khaki green to match the midsole and one black.

Availability and pricing

The End. x Adidas NY II Outdoor SPZL Sneaker already sold out on End.’s website after its launch this morning, but pairs can be found at select third party retailers.

The shoes retail for $155, although prices may jump on resale websites.
