About a year ago, Crocs launched its Echo Ro Clog. At the time, it was one of the most outdoor-friendly shoes the brand had ever made, making it perfect for campground wear.

That said, it was even clunkier and more cumbersome than the brand’s existing iconic clogs. For anyone not entirely sure-footed, that means an increase in the chance of stumbling or tripping over your own feet.

Now, the brand has returned to the trails with the Crocs Quick Trail Clog, which is a pretty significant improvement and could go down as the brand’s best all-around hiking and camping shoe yet.

Take a hike

This new Crocs shoe actually combines two existing silhouettes. The first (and perhaps most obvious) is the brand’s Classic Clog.

The most iconic footwear the brand offers, the Classic Clog is the shoe that made the brand famous. While this version is a much more svelte take on that shoe, it does still have some of the same signature elements, including the clog shape, perforated upper and signature back strap (which converts the shoe into a mule when you flip it forward).

While the shoe has a more secure fit, it still has ventilation and the same ultralight comfort.

In fact, the shoe is even made from the same proprietary Croslite foam the brand has employed for years. That also makes these shoes incredibly lightweight, waterproof, easy to clean and more.

The Quick Trail Clog’s backstrap, however, is non-standard. Instead of the classic strap, this shoe gets a more secure ladder-lock adjustable backstrap that offers a more secure fit that’s far more suitable for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, traveling and more.

Built for speed, built for comfort

The other half of the design equation for this new shoe derives from the brand’s Quick Trail Low. This slip-on, cable-secured shoe has almost water sock-like vibes. And it has an outdoor pedigree that translates brilliantly into the Quick Trail Clog.

That includes the toe’s reinforced tip, which adds durability and toughness to the shoe, helping it better handle uneven terrain.

However, the more crucial borrowed elements can be found on the underside. Flip it over and you’ll see the Quick Trail Clog has numerous additional tread zones, borrowed directly from the Quick Trail Low.

These extra bits of tread make the Quick Trail Clog a much more all-terrain-capable shoe, offering better grip and traction on uneven terrain.

It also gets increased Croslite foam underfoot for added support and protection from the rocky terrain you’ll be tackling.

Truly, this might be Crocs’ best all-around outdoor offering in at least a year, if not longer. And it has arrived right on time for the camping and hiking season.
