As one of the most enduring and influential footwear silhouettes in history, the Puma Suede has expanded far beyond its track and field and basketball warm-up shoe roots, making an impact in streetwear, sports, skate culture and everyday wear.

Now, the brand’s long-lasting style simultaneously steps into both dress shoe and hiking territory, thanks to its burly Vibram outsole and tonal, textured leather upper.

Cultured chameleon

The Puma Suede has always been prized for the low-profile good looks of its soft suede upper, which delivers all-day comfort along with style.

With the new Puma Suede Vibram, that upper is transformed using textured, full-grain cow leather in a rich, chocolatey brown hue.

The tonal, matching laces offer the updated silhouette a sleek appearance that’ll have it fitting in with casual dress shoes, no problem.

What separates this Suede from its traditional counterparts and standard dress shoes is the burly, tough Vibram outsole underfoot.

The chunky upgrade offers more sure-footed steps and utility, as well as a heritage aesthetic that calls to mind nostalgic retro hikers.

Subtle signature branding details, a textile sockliner and Vibram’s well-known yellow logo on the bottom of the outsole complete the package.

Pictures have surfaced of a blacked-out pair to accompany the Chocotart colorway, but that darker version isn’t currently listed on Puma’s website.

Availability and pricing

The Suede Vibram is set to release on July 17 at 9 pm PST. The svelte shoe will retail for $150, though it looks way more expensive than its middle-ground price tag might suggest.
