San Francisco-based design studio Most Modest makes the case for applying high-tech product development to more than just disruptive gadgets, using 3D renderings and rapid prototypes to churn out solution-oriented desk wares. Its marbled rubber coasters ($18) first caught our eye for their resemblance to gym floors and trendy terrazzo surfaces, while the charging mat ($50) puts a lively spin on an intuitive and otherwise utilitarian tool, proving, too, that smart objects don’t always require Bluetooth integration.
