Earlier this year Soma’s brand-new Brew Bottle took home the Best New Product in the consumer analog coffee gear department at the Specialty Coffee Association’s (SCA) expo in Seattle, and, as of today, is available for purchase online.
The Brew Bottle is a 12-ounce borosilicate glass bottle with a recycled plastic lid and a hyper-fine stainless steel filter. You can brew either hot pour over coffee or cold brew coffee, the only change being a quick slide of the steel filter up for pour over, and down for cold brew. Dump near boiling water over 20 or so grams (two tablespoons) of coffee grounds for pour over coffee, or fill the filter to the brim with 40 grams (four tablespoons) of coffee grounds and fill the rest of the bottle up with water for cold brew. No paper filters required, either.
This isn’t a hyperbole: utility, looks and materials combined, it may be the ideal travel and outdoors coffee product.
