This Startup Thinks You’re Paying Way Too Much for Daily Household Essentials

Society wants to make it cheaper to get ahold natural ingredient shampoos, soaps, insect killers and more.

Crowdfunded late in 2018, Society is a startup selling natural, non-toxic everyday essentials — at cost. Nine products are available at launch — insect killer ($5), hand soap ($6), multi-surface spray ($5), bar soap ($3), carpet stain remover ($5), washcloth ($5), deodorant ($7), shampoo ($8) and a waterless pet bath ($5) — and the company plans to add more to its catalog monthly. The catch? To buy into Society’s soaps and cleaning products you have to buy a $9 a month (or $90 a year) membership. Happy cleaning.
