Announced at Democratic Design Days, Ikea’s just-unveiled Ravaror collection aims to be the frugal apartment dweller’s dream.
In a prepared statement, the Swedish giant said its creative starting point was the “reality of urban life” — that is, cramped and “no longer a geographical constant.” Upon its 2020 release, the 20-piece Ravaror will include all the basics — a sofa, tables, open storage solutions, storage boxes — all made to be broken down, moved and set back up again.
Ikea also announced Asia-exclusive robotic furniture, mini-solar panels, television show collabs and more recycling pledges at the same conference. Ravaror will be available worldwide September, 2020.
