These New Mid-Century Modern Tables Are Going to Sell Out in Hours

There’s 600 of them available and they’re made with wood from the Eameses own house.

Cutting down Eucalyptus trees in most California backyards isn’t a story; cutting down Eucalyptus trees in Charles and Ray Eames’s backyard definitely is.

Made from the wood from two felled Eucalyptus trees, there is little chance the 600 Eames Eucalyptus LTR Tables made will last more than a few days. The new take on the Eameses 1950 design is the result of a collaboration between the Eames House (it’s a museum outside of Los Angeles), Herman Miller and Vitra. Herman Miller and Vitra are the sole producers of original Eames designs worldwide.

The Eucalyptus LTR Table is available through Herman Miller’s web store. If you’re into the look but not the hefty price tag, the original wireframe design is available in various finishes and coatings for $235.
