If you’ve ever opened your refrigerator and faced an avalanche of condiment jars, stray produce, and to-go containers, you’re not alone.
Ikea, in its minimalist Swedish wisdom, knows this and has now released a simple but useful-looking storage solution that can help us all keep fridge entropy at bay.
Cool and collected

Fridge organization is one of those perpetual household challenges that seems impossible to solve. Items get pushed to the back as new food enters, condiments multiply mysteriously, and finding what you need often becomes an archaeological expedition.
The Swedish furniture giant’s latest additions to its Klippkaktus line of modular refrigerator organizers are clear containers designed to create defined zones, primarily for loose items that often get lost in the shuffle.
When used together, they make it easy to see everything at a glance and quickly pull out what you need. Most importantly, the containers are built to fit standard fridge shelf depths.
And because they’re from IKEA, they’re affordable, making it possible to outfit your entire refrigerator without breaking the bank.
Buying in bulk

The new storage box set includes three containers (two smaller and one larger) that can be mixed, matched and stacked to squeeze into various fridge areas.
Overall, it’s a handy option for anyone looking for a starter set. Still, it would be nice if Ikea also sold boxes individually for shoppers with more specific visions for their fridge layout.
It’s also annoying that Ikea doesn’t provide the exact measurements for each container included in the set on its website. Instead, it strangely lists what could be the total width, length and height of the storage containers lined up in a row (5″ W x 4.75″ H x 8.5″ L) or perhaps just the set’s packaging dimensions. Lazy in Swedish is “lat”, just in case you’re wondering.
There’s also a new, larger basket meant to slide out like the integrated drawers most fridges feature, giving users easy access to items stored in the back.
