Between its old-school fairing, its shapely tank and its upswept tail, Kawasaki’s Z900RS Café is undoubtedly one of the frontrunners of the neo-retro motorcycle movement.
That said, Team Green hasn’t been particularly liberal with its paint choices. Early examples brought limes and metallic greys, while subsequent years have done without variety altogether. You can have anything, as long as it’s black.

Thankfully, Kawasaki has finally given the Café a more fitting colorway for 2027. It’s debuting for the Japanese market, so hopefully this means it’s an option that will eventually make its way stateside.
Sweet candy coating
I’m talking specifically about the new Candy Tone Red. While Kawasaki has also given the ‘standard’ Z900RS some eye-catching updates, the new option makes the Café especially head-turning.
Namely because it’s a refreshing change from the usual palettes. Kawasaki’s lineup obviously isn’t wanting for shades of green, but hues from across the colorwheel can be more elusive.
