Topo Designs created its latest backpack, the Core Pack, with versatility in mind. The Colorado-based outdoor company has always placed a high value on the ability of its products to function comfortably in both urban and outdoor environments, but the Core Pack takes the idea home with its sheer simplicity. The bag, made of super-tough 1,000-denier Cordura, contains a single 25-liter main compartment that opens wide with a top-to-bottom D-shaped zipper that maximizes space and allows for easy packing. Topo Designs also fitted the Core with expandable water bottle pockets and a laptop sleeve that can also accommodate a hydration reservoir. The Core also notably steers clear of many outdoor pack hallmarks such as bright colors, big buckles and lash tabs, all of which can stand out a little too much when used on the sidewalk instead of the trail.
