The New Kings of Titanium EDC Just Launched Their Smallest, Cheapest, Handiest Product Yet

It may be tiny, but Titaner’s smart magnet-powered accessory boasts dozens of potential uses, if not hundreds.

A few years ago, I happened upon a fantastic little product for which I keep discovering new uses.

It’s called a reusable zip-tie, it’s exactly what it sounds like, and you get a huge bag of them in varying lengths for 20 bucks or less.

Titaner’s innovative connector system could be a sweet solution to a number of, ahem, attachment issues.

As great as they are, they do have a few drawbacks, namely that they typically take two hands to remove (you basically press a little tab on the underside and pull open), they are prone to snapping like twigs when it’s cold and they’re not exactly, you know, elegant.

The good news is, the latest Kickstarter product from the EDC mad scientists at Titaner, the new Quick-Release EDC Carry System, appears to solve all those problems and do much more.

Get yourself connected

The Kickstarter page itself is almost overwhelming in terms of explaining why this tiny accessory beats the alternatives, but a few things jump out.

First off, you do not need additional keyrings, as a whole range of differently sized and shaped integrated sub-buckles (dubbed U, X, D and E) let you match your connector to the task at hand.

Like the entire unit — and most of what Titaner makes — these mounting pieces are made of GR5 titanium, prized for being simultaneously ultra-tough and super-light.

Second, the connecting mechanism is beautifully designed and machined — like all things Titaner — so that it attaches easily but takes a little technique to disconnect.

Powerful N56 magnets bring the two ends together, but to detach them, you must simultaneously press and rotate 90 degrees.

Detaching the connector is just tricky enough that it’s almost impossible for it to happen by accident.

The satisfying snap when the two ends meet brings its own kind of joy, and the overall connection is so secure, Titaner made a video of a single unit being used to drag a car

Speaking of rotating, the ergonomically shaped units are also engineered to smoothly swivel 360 degrees, which only adds to their utility in certain scenarios.

Endless uses

As I mentioned in the intro, the longer I’ve had reusable zipties in my life, the more uses I have found for them, and the same appears to be true of Titaner’s compact connectors. Here are just a few things you can potentially do with them.

  • Attach to your dog’s collar or harness for an easier release than the typical clasp.

  • Add to the two ends of your camera strap, enabling you to swiftly detach it when moving into an awkward position for an epic shot.
  • Because it sticks to any metal surface, split a unit in half, attach a bottle opener and slap it on your fridge.
  • Along the same lines, attach any EDC item, like say a pen, to the bottom or side of metal shelf or desk.

  • Even better, use half a unit to attach a flashlight to the inside of your car hood when desperately trying to jump start it in the middle of nowhere.
  • Tow the freakin’ car, apparently.

Those are just a few examples, but suffice it to say, I’m even more stoked about this (albeit much pricier) product than I was about reusable zip-ties. (Which are still awesome, by the way.)

Availability and pricing

The Titaner Quick-Release EDC Carry System is currently available on Kickstarter, with a single connector costing roughly $37.

Sets of three, four and five are also available, but the price per unit does not significantly drop the more you purchase.

Estimated shipping is February 2026.
