When it comes to tiny, titanium everyday carry gear, no brand has cornered the market quite like Titaner. And boy, has it been a year for the outfit …

Just recently, Titaner launched a reimagining of a classic ratcheting tool, a magnetic quick-release and a carabiner keychain.

Yet it still has some gas left in the tank, as evidenced by the Titaner Shrike, a 5-in-1 multi-tool knife that’s perfect for travelers and adventurers the world ’round.

Measuring just 5.2 inches (including the blade) and weighing 0.381 ounces, this tool is the definition of “tiny but mighty.”

Slender, man

While Titaner doesn’t solely trade in tiny tools, I do believe this is the realm in which the brand’s designers do their best work. And the Shrike is a perfect example of that.

As the brand’s name suggests, this EDC multi-tool is made almost entirely out of titanium. Not only does that make it incredibly strong, but it also makes it magnificently lightweight.

Titaner branded compact titanium folding knife held open between two hands.
The blade is designed to fold into the handle housing without touching the rest of the tool, preventing wear when not in use.

For reference, the tool measures just 5.2 inches long with the blade and 4.4 inches without. When closed, it measures just 3.2 inches, which is about the same as a standard house key (or at least comparable.) Yet, it weighs only 10.8 grams (or 0.381 ounces.)

If that doesn’t drop your jaw, then your jaw might just be un-droppable. And the new tool manages to maintain that size and weight, all while offering a pretty incredible amount of utility.

Remember the titan(ium)

Obviously, the star of the show here is the knife blade. The Shrike’s housing is universally compatible with surgical scalpel blades โ€” the brand specifically touts its compatibility with numbers 23 through 26 (all very common and easy to find sizes.)

However, that’s just one of its many features. Remove the blade, and the tool becomes TSA-compliant. It also features an integrated carabiner for easier hauling and a tritium insert for enhanced visibility in low-light situations.

Beyond the blade, the tool also has a pry bar, driver, nail file and more.

But wait, there’s more. Functionally, the tool also has some other handy uses. Alongside the knife blade, it also has a driver that doubles as a pry bar, a nail file and it works with fire starters.

It’s also ambidextrous, has a safety-focused three-stage opening and boasts a “zero-wear” blade housing (meaning the edge won’t touch anything, even when the knife is closed.)

Pricing and availability

Titaner’s Shrike 5-in-1 multi-tool is currently on Kickstarter with a bit less than a month left. That said, it has already smashed its goal, so the project is headed toward production.

You can score one for yourself starting at just $46.
