Every day, our team filters through hundreds of style articles, clothing pieces, collection launches, brand parties, blogger fads, runway shows, fashion shoots, lookbooks and many, many more stimuli to stay on top of what’s hot in men’s fashion. In spite of all that noise, we’ll keep things simple here: just four things we’re into right now, updated each week.
Cartier Drive Extra Flat in Steel
Cartier’s Drive Extra Flat initially debuted last year in white and pink gold, but the brand (fortunately) released a stainless steel variant for 2018. Costing less than $6,000, it’s far more accessible than the gold models and uses a beautiful, squircle case that’s just 6.6mm thick. While many dress watches in this price range rely on already-established industry trends, Cartier’s unique design is a sight for sore eyes.
Levi’s Made in the USA Selvedge 501 Jeans
Historic denim producer Cone Mills is no longer producing selvedge denim in America. Though certainly not surprising, it’s definitely sad to witness the end of an era. If you’re looking for something tangible to commemorate the White Oak selvedge denim, why not invest in a pair of American-made Levi’s? They’re cut from some of the last available White oak red-line selvedge denim and feature a button fly, five-pocket design and copper rivets.
Nonnative x Gregory Compass Retro 30 Backpack
To commemorate Gregory’s 40th anniversary, Japanese brand Nonnative released a small collaborative series of packs that blend throwback details with modern designs. The Compass 30 features a retro ‘90s color palette and a rare logo used by Gregory between ’83 and ’84. Design-wise, the bag has an ergonomic shoulder harness, a U-zip main compartment and a padded laptop sleeve. A strong contender for your everyday carry, this is a functional bag that you won’t find on other commuters’ backs.
AMI Denim Work Jacket
AMI’s denim jacket combines the look of traditional workwear with a more contemporary fit and finish. It’s made from thick black denim into a boxy, modern profile and features sleek steel buttons. It’ll be a great everyday piece for transitional temperatures.
