John Lofgren has a reputation for uncompromised quality; based in Japan, his namesake brand spares no details when producing vintage-inspired products. These boots, which reference the iconic cap-toe military boots of the 20th century, feature Horween Olive Chromexcel leather, Goodyear-welt construction, Japanese horsehide linings and American-made brass eyelets and speed hooks. A Vibram 705 sole and 700 heel combination provide top-tier durability for everyday wear.
Available now at Standard and Strange, sizes range from 6 to 12 (wide widths and custom options are also available) and boots ship in August 2019. Thanks to the made-to-order process, you can choose your leather — pick from 10 colors of Horween Chromexcel, nine colors if French calfskin, two colors of suede and a Japanese-tanned cowhide — along with the eyelet color and storm welt color. At $1,020, they’re definitely an investment, but the components and construction are second to none.
