Everything You Need to Know About J.Crew’s New Jeans

Premium Japanese denim, a touch of stretch, and eight fresh new washes.

Like a lot of things in life, jeans can be complicated. So recently, J.Crew simplified its denim offering, creating eight standardized washes that it’s applying to all three of its men’s fits. The washes range in color from a light, faded broken in wash with distressing at the hips and along the thigh to an inky black. So whether you prefer the 484 Slim, the 770 Straight fit or the more generously sized 1040, you can shop safe in the knowledge that you’re always going to be able to find the same wash. (Or, if you wear all three, you can get them all in the same color.)

But the updates don’t stop there. All three fits are also getting a touch of stretch, courtesy of Kurabo, a Japanese cotton mill that’s been supplying premium materials to brands since 1888. It makes them a little easier to wear and move around in than their raw denim alternatives. In addition, J.Crew also introduced new denim jackets and a handful of new denim and chambray shirts to round out the offering.

And while the shirts and jackets are great, we can’t help but be a little more excited about the jeans. They’re available for pre-order right now, which means if you buy a pair online today, they should arrive just in time for when you really need a new pair of jeans this fall.
