Halley Stevensons knows a thing or two about waxed canvas fabric. The UK-based brand has been manufacturing textiles since 1864 and was awarded a patent in 1910 for “cleaning and water-proofing textiles.” Along with holding the domain name waxedcotton.com, it continues to produce some of the best breathable weather-resistant fabrics on the market. So when San Francisco clothing brand Taylor Stitch decided to make a waxed canvas jacket, it’s no surprise they went to Halley Stevensons for the fabric.
The Winslow Parka is made from 8-ounce beeswaxed canvas that is both water and wind repellent. For added warmth, a 22-ounce undyed striped blanket lines the interior of the jacket. The design features a fully lined hood, two chest pockets and two lined hand-warmer pockets. Both durable and functional, the jacket uses a brass two-way YKK zipper and brass YKK snaps on the chest pockets and cuffs.
Made in the UK, this jacket normally costs $298, but is available for $199 on sale while supplies. Considering the versatile design and quality materials, that’s a steal for jacket that will stand up to whatever spring weather comes your way.
