One of Our Favorite Casemakers Just Did its First Shoe Ever

An office favorite teams up with a top tier shoemaker out of L.A.

Australian wallet and bag maker Bellroy have teamed up with Clae to produce a 3 piece collection that includes a first from the Aussie brand: a pair of sneakers.

The collaboration is a pretty natural one. Both Clae and Bellroy have made names for themselves by taking common objects and refining them. The latter of the two started out doing as much with wallets, but in recent years they’ve branched out to backpacks, totes, and briefcases. And while it’s pretty notable that this footwear collaboration is a first for Bellroy, it’s hard not to see it as a natural step for the brand.

As for the shoes themselves, they’re made with a nubuck leather upper which features a tongue embossed with the brand names of both collaborators. This soft-grey material is paired with a molded EVA footbed and rubber cupsole designed with comfort in mind. The sneakers come with Bellroy’s key carrier, while the slim sleeve which features the same color nubuck leather is sold separately.
