Sotheby’s is auctioning 100 of the rarest sneakers ever made in collaboration with Stadium Goods. The online-only auction is now open for bidding and closes on July 23. Spanning over 15 years of sneakers, the collection includes some of the most coveted kicks on the market.
Some of the notable pairs include Nike Mags (Back to the Future Part II shoes released in 2011), Adidas Karl Lagerfeld NMDs, Nike SB Dunk Lows (from 2002 with art from French painter Bernard Buffet) and Jordan Travis Scott “Cactus Jack” Air Jordan 4s (in purple suede). The stand-out sneakers in the collection are, without a doubt, the Nike “Moon Shoes.” These handmade running shoes were designed by Bill Bowerman and are expected to sell for $160,000.
While the collection is open for bidding now online, sneakerheads can also view the collection in Sotheby’s New York galleries until July 23.
