Now you can customize your own Vans sneakers with artwork from Chaz Bear of Toro y Moi. Two exclusive prints designed by Bear are now available in two iconic Vans styles: the Era and the Classic Slip-On. One print features turquoise organic shapes, tiled on an orange background, and the other utilizes stylized words ‘Love’ and ‘Fear’ repeated in a black-and-white colorway. “My favorite thing to do is to work on music and paint in the same day — it’s definitely one of the best feelings,” Bear says in a promotional video.
The shoes are available through the Vans Customs program and the prints are only offered for the fabric on the vamp (the area over the forefoot and toes). Other aspects of the sneakers are customizable with materials of different colors and patterns. What’s more, each style retails for just $90 — quite the deal for custom kicks with distinct art from the iconic Bay Area artist and musician.
