There are few style brands more closely associated with New England than Timberland. Founded as Abington Shoe Company in South Boston, Massachusetts, in 1933, the brand eventually moved its operations to Newmarket, New Hampshire, where it rebranded to Timberland in the 1970s.
To this day, the brand remains relevant and iconic. In fact, it has an array of launches to prove it, ranging from spins on its classic, iconic boots (like its collaboration with Our Legacy Work Shop) to novel products like a heritage-inspired backpack.
Here is the best of everything that the brand has to offer this year:
Best known for its signature boots, you probably wouldn’t expect that Timberland would be a brand to get into EDC, outdoor adventure or travel. But the brand’s Heritage 27-Liter Backpack says otherwise. Inspired by classic rucksacks, this pack is constructed from lightweight polyester (which is naturally weather-resistant), has a classic combination of a cinch opening and a flip top closure, boasts a padded back panel and straps, has an internal laptop sleeve and so much more. It’s also done up in the brand’s most iconic color combination. Yet, it comes in at just $80, which is quite the steal.
With the help of Japanese streetwear label Beams, Timberland has renovated and reimagined its most iconic footwear ever. While this boot retains the overall vibes of the brand’s signature 6-Inch Boot, it swaps the classic laces for a strap-and-buckle system. Like other Timberland offerings, this one also gets a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, helping boost its durability and all-weather-friendliness.
Timberland x Tokyo Design Collective Stratham Bomber Jacket
Timberland’s newest capsule collection, by way of Tokyo Design Collective (TDC), blends the brand’s American workwear aesthetic with a contemporary Japanese take. The Stratham Bomber Jacket is a unisex style inspired by Timberland’s “Litchfield”, and has been redone in an oversized denim rendition. A 100 percent cotton construction, Tokyo Design Collective Signature Hexagon Eyelet Tabs, full zip closure with lace zipper pull and an embroidered Timberland Tree on the chest are just a few of the thoughtful updates that blend Timberland’s rugged DNA with subtle tailoring and elevated touch points. The Stratham Bomber Jacket, along with the rest of the capsule collection, is available now on Timberland Japan’s website and stores.
First released in early 2025, Timberland’s popular woven leather boot now comes in a go-with-everything olive colorway. The boot features Premium Timberland Leather across the upper, a dual-density rubber midsole and lug outsole, is lined with leather and comes with 100 percent recycled PET boot laces. Given that the previous beige and all-black colorways have mostly sold out, we predict this style will go fast as well.
