Crocs’ Latest Drop Looks Strikingly Similar to Nike’s Viral Flat

While a significant departure from the brand’s typical DNA, the upcoming silhouette feels eerily reminiscent of another sold-out style.

Crocs isn’t known to shy away from designing bold and “Unfurgettable” footwear.

In fact, it can be argued that the brand specializes in the kinds of ugly shoes currently dominating the footwear zeitgeist.

While its upcoming release is actually more on-trend than ugly, it’s still divisive, and not just because it’s a new sneaker hybrid … the Crocs Terre Tech also looks very similar to a recently released Nike style, one that sold out in hours.

Step in line

This isn’t the first ballet sneaker that Crocs has dropped; just last year, the brand released the Crocs EXP Terre, the simultaneously technical and whimsical predecessor to this upcoming launch.

But, where the EXP Terre was dressed in two reflective colorways (Silver/Chalk and Gunmetal/Black), the Terre Tech comes with a new ballistic material upper and an upgraded midsole strap with an adjustable, secure fit.

The enhanced upper material doesn’t just make the shoe more durable; the matte, water-resistant ballistic textile also makes the shoe look like a not-so-distant cousin of the recently released NikeSkims Air Rift Mesh.

Although the Crocs shoe is missing the (literally) divisive split-toe present on the Nike collab, the adjustable midfoot strap, grippy outsole, tonal colorways and unique, delicate profile are all found on both styles.

For fans of the viral NikeSkims collab, which sold out in hours upon its initial release (a new colorway is coming), Crocs’ imitation may be just what the doctor ordered.

The Terre Tech is nearly $50 cheaper than Nike’s style, and since it hasn’t launched yet, there’s still time to get on the waitlist and actually walk away with a pair.

Availability and pricing

The Terre Tech is listed as coming soon on the Crocs website, with an estimated availability date of March 5, 2026. The hybrid sneaker will retail for $95.
