The Pumpkin Spice Latte is not the true harbinger of fall. New boots are. Every year, not long before leaves start turning, bootmakers large and small start rolling out new and updated models designed to keep wearers warm, dry and stylish in the darker part of the year. One particular stand-out this time around? Yuketen’s Maine Guide Boots.
Each hand-sewn moccasin-style boot was made in Maine and differ only in colorway: one pair features brown leather and wool, another comes in black-on-black camo and a third is cut from brown hide paired with houndstooth. And while boot maker produced three different versions of the style — all feature the same full grain leather construction, virgin melton wool, and a Vibram 2021 outsole. In addition to being designed to wear comfortably thanks to the moccasin construction and absorbent outsole and mid, the boots are made with a special waxed leather that vintages after just a few months of wear – lending them an easy and lived-in look. So yes, the days are getting shorter and nights a little cooler, but at least we have things like these as a silver lining.
