Uniqlo has long walked a fine line — part everyday essential icon, part cult favorite. The Japanese retailer built its empire on crisp, affordable basics, yet never stopped dropping buzzworthy collabs with the fashion world’s elite. Every so often, it nails both at once — merging timeless design with pure hype. Its latest fall collection might be the clearest, most viral proof yet.

The perks of commitment

Bringing together understated design with cozy winter essentials, Uniqlo’s new ‘Wrapped by KAWS’ Winter 2025 collection marks a significant milestone in the brand’s long-running relationship with the acclaimed contemporary artist who emerged from the New York graffiti scene in the 1990s before evolving into one of contemporary art’s most recognizable figures.

Known for his distinctive cartoon-like characters featuring X-ed out eyes, KAWS has bridged the gap between street art, fine art and commercial design.

His work has been exhibited at major institutions worldwide, and his vinyl toy figures and large-scale sculptures have become highly sought after and collectible.

While Uniqlo and KAWS have maintained a fruitful creative partnership since 2016, this release marks the first to drop since the brand officially named the Brooklyn-based artist its inaugural artist-in-residence in September 2025.

The appointment deepened a relationship that has already produced numerous successful collaborations, with KAWS now playing an integral role in developing future LifeWear products and curating art events at Uniqlo stores globally.

Winter staples with a touch of hype

The collection deserves credit for its understated approach to branded collaborations.

Rather than plastering his iconic Companion character across every surface, the Wrapped by KAWS line features subtle embroidered details and thoughtful branding that allows the cuts and two-toned color schemes of items to take center stage.

The lineup includes premium cashmere crew neck sweaters in rich fall tones, such as red, grey and black, as well as lambswool alternatives that deliver warmth without the premium price tag.

Accessories round out the collection with Heattech knitted gloves and beanies available in modern colorways like navy, mustard yellow, forest green and off-white.

While the collection does include kids’ sizes, the adult offerings form the core of the release, making these wardrobe staples accessible to KAWS fans of all ages.

The collection’s flagship cashmere crew-neck sweaters retail for $150, delivering premium material at a fraction of the cost of similar designer pieces. Lambswool crew neck sweaters offer a more budget-friendly option at $50.

At the same time, Heattech accessories, including beanies and gloves, are priced at just $30 each, making it easy to round out your winter wardrobe without breaking the bank.
