That’s the bet that Vans is making, anyway, and I’d say the brand is right on the money.

Its latest take on the mainstay model transforms the slim sneaker into a full-on ballerina-style hybrid, effortlessly combining the of-the-moment trends and the enduring style of the timeless shoe.

The Premium Authentic Prima Shoe is a masterclass in applying a popular footwear trend to a classic silhouette. The new variant allows the well-known shoe to evolve, without losing its visual identity.

This take on Vans’ legacy model sees a ground-up remix. The new shoe features a modern square toe, a direct nod to the ballerina hybrid sneaker influence.

The low profile silhouette with a minimal lining creates a sleek fit, and the cushioned insole, leather footbed and signature waffle outsole maintain the style’s grit and comfort.

There are two colorways to choose from, with the first being Checkerboard Black. The pattern isn’t traditional Vans checkerboard; it’s gingham, albeit done the Off the Wall way.

The black-and-white canvas upper is complemented by a ribbon-like lace, reinforcing the ballet influence.

The second option is a blacked-out take done up in supple, premium leather that gives the shoe an even sleeker appearance.
