Orlebar Brown is a menswear company that launched in 2007 and became well-known for their photographic print shorts, which can be customized by uploading an image to the brand's website for use in the creation of a bespoke pair. Now, the company is partnering with IWC in the design of a special edition Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph (Ref. IW390704) and a 9-piece capsule collection of resort wear, including a blazer with white piping, a cotton/silk knitted polo, and, of course, a photographic swim short depicting a yacht in Sardinia.
The Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition “Orlebar Brown” is a stainless steel, 44.6mm watch with a marine blue dial and red accents. Powered by the IWC cal. 89361 automatic movement with flyback function and a power reserve of 68 hours, it's water-resistance to 60m and ships on a blue rubber strap with a textile inlay, the buckle of which matches the side-fastener buckles of Orlebar Brown swim trunks. The dial's clean layout is the result of a combination totalizer at 12 o'clock that displays both elapsed hours and minutes, as well as a running seconds and date display at 6 o'clock.
The new Portugieser will cost $12,500 and is available this month.
