Christie's July watch auctions conclude with Watches Online: The Collector's Edition (July 22 through August 5), featuring over 180 timepieces. There are all the usual suspects: manual-wind Daytonas, crazy Patek, modern complicated masterpieces.
But really, at this point, does anybody care? We've become inundated with these watches — utterly and completely used to them. Much more enjoyable are the sleeper lots — the oddities, the horological accoutrement, the random. And while you shouldn't lull yourself into a false sense of optimism that you'll be able to snag any of these lots at a steal — this is an online auction, after all — it's still fun to browse and see what's out there...
