The latest addition to Longines’ growing Heritage family of vintage-inspired watch designs is the Heritage 1945, based on a dress watch from the ’40s originally known as the Calatrava (wonder how Patek feels about that).
At 40mm it’s a great mid-sized timepiece. It features six arabic numerals with mid-century-style font, and the blued hands make the face just a touch more vibrant. The dial is a gorgeous convex piece of brushed copper. Inside ticks a modest ETA 2895 automatic, which means that the 1945 is pretty reasonably priced at $1,800.
