The T80 needs no introduction. Not only is the digital watch Timex’s most recognizable but it helped set the company in a new nostalgia-driven direction.

Since its debut in 2019, the ‘80s-inspired T80 has come out in countless iterations. One of the more popular in the last couple of years has been the all-black collaborative version with End Clothing.

Right now, that very model is insanely cheap. End’s website has it listed at an unbelievable $40, down from $115 (65% off). This is quite possibly the lowest you’ll ever see the stainless steel T80.

Retro renaissance

Today, we think of Timex for its undeniable range of watches (in both price and style). But before the T80, the brand’s digital offerings were largely sporty and utilitarian.

The T80 debuted in 2019 as an ’80s homage timepiece and marked a new nostalgia-driven direction for the brand.

We were long removed from models like the SSQ, LCA and ana-digi references from the ‘70s and ‘80s (all of which have since been reissued). Watches like the Ironman and Marathon took their place throughout the next couple of decades.

In 2015, however, Timex experienced a big personnel shift. Tobias Reiss-Schmidt became the CEO and helped redefine the brand in the public consciousness. Since then, it’s had a renaissance of sorts, becoming an absolute lodestone for the industry.

The T80, along with the Q Timex revival also from 2019, marked a new playful direction for the company. And one that didn’t have to detract from what it was doing in other categories either, such as field watches and divers. The T80 isn’t a direct reissue but was inspired by an entire era where digital watches could be stylish accessories.

This is the End

The blacked-out T80 collab was a hit release last year. This wasn’t the first time that End teamed up with Timex but it’s nevertheless one of the sleekest iterations of the retro watch that we’ve seen.

Sporting a monochromatic black stainless steel case (34mm) with a matching multi-row bracelet, the timepiece doesn’t stray far from the standard T80. You still get the stopwatch, timer and calendar functions.

The biggest evolution comes when you activate the Indiglo backlight. After you push the button, the LCD display reveals End’s branding in cursive. End’s logo is also engraved on the caseback and band clasp.

Availability and pricing

End has significantly dropped the price of the End x Timex T80 “Everyday Black” edition from $115 to just $40. This is one of the absolute cheapest stainless steel T80s we’ve ever seen, at least with the multi-row bracelet.

For comparison, the lowest-priced version currently on Amazon is $60 (if you want an all-black version, it’s $75). Timex’s website has the regular all-black (non-End) variant at $129.
