In case you’re unaware, Porsche is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. While that’s been predominantly seen in some excellent cars, Porsche Design — the design firm spun off by 911 designer Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in the 1970s — is paying its own tribute with a limited edition watch, the Chronotimer Rennsport Reunion VI. As the name suggests, it’s not only built in honor of the carmaker’s birthday, but it’s also made in celebration for the sixth Rennsport Reunion, the premier US gathering for all things Porsche.
The Chronotimer is an automatic chronograph, running the time-tested Valjoux 7750, and comes rocking a 42mm titanium case with a black, titanium-carbide coating. The matte dial and black leather strap (which uses the same kind of leather you’d find in a modern Porsche) help complete the stealthy, all-black look, a colorway that was pioneered by Porsche Design’s early timepieces.
The watch is available for pre-order now for $6,850 and will be super-limited, with just 70 pieces made; furthermore, distribution is limited strictly to the United States.
