The Mido Ocean Star Now Comes in Two New Dial Colors

If you’re looking for a larger dive watch (or one in a gold-toned case), then one of these could be for you.

Mido’s Ocean Star line of dive watches just got an upgrade in the form of two colorways, a navy blue dial and a (vaguely moss-like) green dial, both of which sport pink gold-colored PVD steel cases (as seems to be Mido’s wont, these days). The blue-dialed version, sporting a blue fabric strap, and the green, sporting a brown leather strap, both feature the automatic Mido Caliber 80 (ETA C07.621 base), an Elaboré-grade movement adjusted in 3 positions for increased accuracy that includes day-date functionality and 80 hours of power reserve.

The 42.5mm stainless steel case on both models features a pink gold PVD treatment as well as a unidirectional rotating bezel with insert that matches the respective dial color, plus a sapphire crystal with AR coating, screw-down crown and case back, and 200m of water resistance. While the watch industry seems to finally be trending away from oversized watches, if you’re that guy who prefers a larger dive watch, or if you want in something other than a steel or black PVD finish, one of these new Ocean Stars could be the option for you.
