Some watches can be recognized a mile away. The Panerai Luminor’s long-established cushion case and bridge device with the lever is one of those unmistakable designs. The new Luminor Due collection updates the iconic Panerai look from the original Lumnior 1950 with a thinner, sleeker case and a range of new colorways for the dials and straps.
The Luminor Due’s elegant and minimalist case lines are the result of a sophisticated technical reworking of the historical model originally used for the Italian navy. This update has transformed the esteemed sports watch into a modern classic. The Luminor Due collection also features traditional Panerai sports attributes like 30 meters of water-resistance and high luminosity. Now made in three case sizes, the new Luminor Due collection has something suitable for every wrist and situation while still boasting the powerful Panerai identity.
Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic Acciaio 38mm – PAM00903
For the first time, Panerai has shrunk the Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic down to 38mm wide. This size makes the timepiece versatile enough to slip under any shirt cuff. The ivory dial offers superb luminosity with luminous dot markers and large blue figures that color-coordinate with the hands. The PAM00903 has a mechanical automatic calibre that offers a three-day power reserve. The blue leather strap with a saffiano finish features Panerai’s new quick release strap changing system. This intuitive method makes changing the strap without tools easy — placing simple pressure on the back of the strap near the attachment does the trick. Just another feature that makes this new 38mm even more of a treat.
Lumnior Due 3 Days Automatic Acciaio 42mm – PAM00904
The 42mm version of the Luminor Due 3 Days checks in even thinner than the PAM00903 at 10.50mm thick (as opposed to 11.20mm). The cushion case is also made entirely of AISI 316L stainless steel, a steel alloy with high corrosion resistance. An anthracite dial is constructed in the familiar Panerai sandwich fashion, offering large luminous Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. Finished off with an untreated brown leather strap with contrasting beige stitching, that also features the quick release strap changing system, helps make this one a modern classic.
Luminor Due 3 Days GMT Power Reserve Automatic Acciaio 45mm – PAM00944
At 45mm, this GMT timepiece is a bit closer in size to the fabled Panerai Luminor 1950 that the Due collection is built from. The anthracite sun-brushed dial features the sandwich style with luminous Arabic numerals. One of the two superimposed disks contains a layer of beige Super-LumiNova that radiates through the stencil indices and numerals. A GMT hand and an AM/PM indicator at 9 o’clock indicate the second time zone. And a sapphire crystal caseback gives a look at the self-winding Calibre P.4002 movement for a unique finish.
