Unimatic is an Italian brand making awesome limited-run, minimalist tool watches. Until now, these watches have been time-only or time-and-date, but that all changes this week with the introduction of the Modello Tre.

The Modello Tre (models U3-A in steel and U3-A/N in black DLC) is a chronograph diver rated to 300m of water resistance. It features a dual-register dial layout with cream-colored Super Luminova lume and a matching pearl on an otherwise sterile black aluminum bezel insert and “gilt” seconds track for a vintage-inspired look. A double-domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal rounds out the beautiful dial with modern tech.

The case itself is stainless steel (or black DLC-coated steel) with a screw-down, 2mm-thick case back with individual serial number and 8mm crown. The pushers are 5.5mm screw-down models with high-quality gaskets, making this a true diving chrono. The movement utilized is a VK64 meca-quartz running at 32.7k with a 3-year battery life. Despite its quartz heart, the VK64 seconds hand runs in 1/5th-second intervals, making it appear to sweep like a mechanical hand.

Shipping with the watch is a 22mm black Horween Cordovan Shell two-piece strap as well as a black, v-shaped Unimatic nato with brushed stainless steel buckle. Each model (steel and DLC) has been produced in a series of 600 and comes with a 24-month worldwide warranty. Price on the steel version is ~$599 and ~$713 for DLC.
