You like the size and heft of Casio’s G-Shock line, and you also like the stealthy law-enforcement/military look of many of their models. But now you want something with a bit more flash, while maintaining that serious black look. You also happen to really like the paint scheme off the Pontiac Firebird from Smokey and the Bandit. Well, you can have all that and more with the Casio G-Shock GA110GB-1A ($179). Casio has added a black high-gloss finish to the resin band and case and a tastefully done gold dial to up the wow factor. No worries, it’s still G-Shock bombproof with magnetic and shock resistance and 200 meter water resistance for those days when you’re in the throes of the field as opposed to the cushy office. Other niceties are the auto LED Light, 29 time zone capability, 1/1000 second stopwatch, 2-year battery life and an alarm function. The wall clockish 55mm case weeds out the diminutive-wristed, so unless you’ve been doing your fair share of chinups, you might want to steer clear.
