The new Alpiner Quartz joins Alpina’s line of mountaineering-themed sport watches as the brand’s most affordable model yet, but one that doesn’t skimp out on features or looks. With origins in the Swiss brand’s models from the 1930s, the current Alpiner collection spans everything from simple automatics to in-house flyback chronographs, but they all share a hardy, sporty purpose. The new Alpina Alpiner Quartz has a clean design, and a quartz movement helps it to cut back on price as well as thickness, making for an approachable, wearable everyday option.
In steel with a domed sapphire crystal and water-resistant to 100m, the Alpina Alpiner Quartz measures 42mm wide and 9.95mm thick, available in four variants with black, white, and blue dials. A restrained design, forgoing many cues of sport watches like bezel markings, it remains sporty in size and other elements but should easily make for a versatile wear. Price for the Alpina Alpiner Quartz watch is $795 on a strap or $895 on a steel bracelet.
