Ming is a Malaysia-based microbrand manufacturing watches in Switzerland — you may recall their first watch, the 17.01, which we covered back in 2017, demand for which well outpaced supply.
Now, in respond to that demand, Ming has released a new model, the 17.06, available in two versions. The Monolith features a matte black dial and anthracite DLC-beadblasted case, while the Copper has an etched copper dial with a copper-colored DCL-coated case. Both cases are machined from stainless steel, and both share identical dial markers, hands and proportions. The case used for both models is water-resistant to 100m, features a fixed bezel and ships with both straight and curved springbars.
The new Monolith and Copper 17.06s are powered by the automatic ETA 2824-2, modified to feature two crown positions (no date) and regulated to five positions for increased accuracy. Each watch ships on a handmade leather Jean Rousseau Paris strap and comes with a leather travel patch from Studio Koji Sato.
Pricing for the Monolith is ~$1,526 and ~$1,272 for the Copper — both will be available in late September.
