SCUBA divers who grew up during the golden age of diving will no doubt be familiar with Aquadive, a company founded in 1962 to produce robust and reliable tool watches for divers. Poseidon, founded in 1958, is another famed name in the diving world, having provided dive gear (including state-of-the-art rebreathers) for both civilian and military divers for over half a century. Now, the two brands have teamed up on a special edition, co-branded diver, the Aquadive Poseidon GMT.
The Poseidon GMT, which is inspired by the original Aquadive Timedepth from the 1970s, is built upon the modern Bathysphere 100 GMT platform, which is rated to 1,500 feet of water resistance and provides dual-time zone functionality via an ETA 2893-2 automatic movement. It’s housed in a 42mm stainless steel case with a dial that features Poseidon’s signature yellow branding in the form of a 24-hour ring, GMT hand and logo at 9 o’clock. The watch ships on an ISOfrane ladder-style rubber strap and is limited to 300 pieces — MSRP is $1,890, but the watches can be pre-ordered at a 25% discount for a final price of $1,395. Pre-orders will receive a Poseidon mission patch and two ISOfrane straps in black and yellow.
