Doxa dive watches have a cult following and a historical role in the development of the helium escape valve — a feature mostly only used by actual professional divers but now common on serious dive watches. It’s the use of color, however, that distinguishes the brand for many watch fans, and the brand has just introduced six bright new dial colors in a reissue of its classic model from 1969 called the Sub 300T Conquistador.
Doxa already produced a watch in the Sub 300 that offered a pretty consistent experience to its legacy diver, but the new Sub 300T Conquistador offers an update to that model with some minor tweaks as well as a range of new color options. In Doxa’s world, colors signify different types of watches and their intended uses — the classic orange, for example, generally being reserved for “Professional” models.
In a steel case measuring 42.5mm wide and water-resistant to no less than 1,200m, this three-hand diver is powered by the reliable Swiss ETA 2824 automatic movement. The case is slightly thicker (14mm) than that of the Sub 300 model (13.4mm), and it’s topped with a sapphire crystal. The new watch comes on a beads-of-rice-style bracelet that adds some retro charm and is available online directly from the brand now. Each model has a price of $1,890.
