You can always count on English brand Christopher Ward to deliver quality automatic watches at affordable prices, often with innovative designs and features. Their new C60 Trident Ombré COSC Limited Edition is no exception — water-resistant to an impressive 600m, it features a 42mm case with a unique steel dial, each of which is hand-etched. The etching pattern fades to black around the edge of the dial, making for a special look that’s complemented by a matte black bezel. Each watch is a one-off.

The “Ombré” — “shaded” in French — features a COSC-certified Sellita SW200 movement, C1 Super-LumiNova, a date window at 3 o’clock and a unidirectional dive bezel. Its hands have also been completely redesigned and include a triangular hour hand, baton-shaped minute hand and a seconds hand with signature Christopher Ward trident-shaped counterbalance that features both polished and brushed surfaced. Impressively, the COSC-certified SW200 movement used in the C60 has a tolerance of just -4/+6 seconds a day.

Limited to 300 total pieces, it ships on either a leather strap ($1,025), a hybrid strap ($1,025) or a matching steel bracelet ($1,125) and is available from Christopher Ward’s website.
