Editor’s Note: Watches & Wonders (formerly SIHH) and Baselworld 2020 are canceled but that hasn’t stopped watch brands large and small from debuting their new wares. To stay on top of this year’s best new watch releases, visit our tag page.
The sizes and proportions of square and rectangular watches are notoriously hard to get right, but Nomos has always done well with their remarkably thin Tetra. Stylish and design-focused as always, the Tetra now comes in four attractive new colors that together form a Symphony collection meant as a tribute to the composer Beethoven.
While a diameter of 29.5mm might sound small for masculine wrists, it helps to realize that a square watch will wear larger than a round one with the same measurements (here, measuring almost 42mm corner-to-corner). Nomos’s own in-house movements are where a lot of the brand’s value comes from, and here the manually wound mechanical movement inside is nicely decorated and visible through a sapphire crystal display case back, housed in a case that’s just 6.5mm thick.
Available in copper, olive green, turquoise, and dark blue dial colors that Nomos has named after Beethoven compositions, the new watches each have a price of $2,080.
