The F-91W has been quietly running the world for decades, and has remained relatively unchanged since 1989. But now, Casio just gave it something new to do.

In the simplest terms, the F-B100W is, an F-91W with Bluetooth and a step tracker. Casio has employed both of these features before, especially within its G-Shock and Pro Trek lines. We also saw the $95 steel ABL-100 from a couple of years ago, which is a more sophisticated version of this watch. But never before have these features coexisted on such an affordable model.

For F-91W diehards and budget-watch enthusiasts who have spent years ignoring smartwatches on the grounds of daily charging rituals and subscriptions, this is a meaningful alternative that’s easy on the wallet while still giving you a more purist-friendly digital timepiece.
