Last year, Mido debuted the Multifort 8 Two Crowns, a unique steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet and an octagonal bezel boasting a mix of brushed and polished finishes.
The watch drew immediate comparisons to the most iconic integrated sports watch out there, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, but Mido’s affordable take on the style did have one glaring difference. The watch added some diver styling and functionality via its titular two crowns, with one of them controlling an inner timing bezel.
The result was a bit of a weird mashup that, I think, kept the watch from generating as much hype as it otherwise would have. Well, the suits at Mido must’ve thought the same thing, because the brand has now launched a new, cleaner version of the Multifort 8 with a single crown and no dive bezel.

Heavy lies one crown
The new Mido Multifort 8 One Crown has the same case design as the Two Crowns, with its stainless steel case measuring 40mm across and 38.4mm long and sporting the same AP-inspired octagonal bezel.
The crowns are different, obviously, with a single octagonal crown at 3:00 replacing the two that were previously found at 2:00 and 4:00.
