The Oris Divers Date really ought to be included in any conversation about the best Swiss dive watches. Its lineage can be traced back to 1965, and the current collection retains that coveted design language from the golden age of aquatic tool watches.

It hails from the second generation of proper divers, following directly in the wake of the Submariner and Fifty-Fathoms. And like those certified icons, Oris uses great care and restraint when selecting colors for its flagship collection.

Case in point: a new olive-drab dial expands the Divers Date collection currently offered on the Oris website to five watches. It is a perfect addition to the concise and measured lineup, both fresh and faithful.

This update is characteristically restrained. It presents a new dial color without disrupting any other detail, proving Oris is wise enough not to mess with a good thing.

The 39mm stainless-steel case introduced with the Divers Date in 2024 remains untouched. It is finished with vertical satin brushing and fitted with an unguarded crown, accented with a fluted grip and signed, polished dome.

A polished stainless steel bezel frame, equipped with a fluted grip, holds the same black ceramic dive bezel found throughout the Divers Date collection. It is marked with the customary 60-minute count-up track, featuring numerals every 10 minutes, a fully graduated 15-minute segment and a lume pip.

Not so drab

Beneath the double-domed sapphire crystal lies a grainy olive-green dial. While this particular shade of green is new to the Divers Date, Oris has deployed it elsewhere recently, including a fetching Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph released in 2025.

Combined with the black bezel, it hints at vintage military apparel without disrupting the Divers Date’s unlimited versatility. Like the other four colors in the current lineup, this watch can be worn every day with everything.

The remainder of the dial is pristine, featuring Oris’s signature applied hour track and handset, both fitted with Super-LumiNova. An unframed date window at 6:00 reveals a white disc with a black track.

Sportswear

The olive dial Divers Date comes on the standard three-link stainless steel bracelet, featuring a stepped taper and exposed rivets. It is finished with vertical satin brushing and polished ends, and secured with a micro-adjustable folding clasp.

Also customary for the Divers Date collection, a black perforated rubber pin buckle strap is included.

This classic diver is powered by an Oris Caliber 733-1 automatic movement, which beats at 4Hz and provides a 41-hour power reserve. It is visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback.

Availability and pricing

Vintage dive watches and Cold War-era military surplus apparel are two pillars of menswear that will never go out of style. This handsome new Divers Date touches upon both without limiting its versatility.

The Oris Diver Date in olive is available now from Oris for $2,800.
