Seiko’s “Turtle” is one of the most universally revered dive watches, renowned for its blend of respectable performance, welcome affordability and distinctive look.
Technically, it is a series of watches, originating in 1976 with the 6306/9 and produced under the Prospex label since 2016. Through multiple movements and minor dial adjustments, the Japanese watchmaker has maintained a consistent look and quality, which has endeared the “Turtle” to several generations of watch enthusiasts.

Now, Seiko is doing its part to help save the aquatic reptiles that represent its famous dive watch. Through an ongoing partnership with Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, an Australian organization that rescues and rehabilitates sea turtles, Seiko is sponsoring and documenting the recovery process for a turtle named Kame.
To raise awareness and funds for CTRC and Kame — which means turtle in Japanese — Seiko created the limited edition Prospex SRPM04K ‘Kame.’ It is a “Turtle” inspired by the natural beauty of Fitzroy Island, a sea turtle sanctuary located along the Great Barrier Reef.

Seiko is donating an undisclosed amount from the sale of every Prospex ‘Kame’ directly to the CTRC. Kame’s recovery process and eventual re-release will be shared on Seiko Australia’s social channels.
