Timex is the king of approachable watches, and its Expedition series is among the best affordable field watches ever made. Hell, even without the affordability angle, it’s still an iconic line.

The latest take, the Timex Expedition Field Post Solar, adds some especially convenient tech that elevates this classic watch without sacrificing its style or bumping it out of its budget-friendly range.

The Timex Expedition Field Post Solar is positioned squarely in the center of the Expedition lineup’s price range. While it’s not quite as affordable as the ultra-budget options (some of which fall under $70), it’s far cheaper than the high-end automatic versions (just a hair under $400).

Its array of features also sits between the budget and high-end offerings, making it the perfect middle ground for anyone who wants more refinement but not quite as much out of pocket as the most expensive ones.
