On paper, the Timex Intrepid had it all.
Released in 1995, the watch came with a highly legible case (backed by innovative Indiglo technology), slide-rule bezel for nautical distance calculations and affordable price tag, not to mention some celebrity clout.
One reportedly made its way into the collection of esteemed sailing enthusiast John F. Kennedy Jr.

That’s a lot of watch, especially by today’s standards. Perhaps even too much. Both the original, as well as a recent reissue, clocked in at a unapologetically bold 46mm, side to side.
In other words, the Intrepid was awesome on paper … but not on every wrist.
