The Waterbury reverse panda chrono is on sale, it’s low stock, and it won’t stay this way long.

Timex has quietly trimmed the price of one of its most versatile chronographs — the Waterbury Chronograph in a reverse panda configuration — down to $178, from its regular retail price of $210.

That’s a 15-percent discount on a stainless steel bracelet watch with clean proportions and classic sports-watch styling, available directly from Timex’s website.

A timeless configuration

For those not immersed in watch-speak, a standard so-called “panda” dial features a white or silver main dial with dark sub-dials — a look made famous by racing chronographs of the 1960s and ’70s.

The “reverse panda” inverts that color scheme: dark main dial, light sub-dials.

On the Waterbury, the effect is a black dial with white sub dial registers, which reads with slightly more presence on the wrist and pairs naturally with the brushed stainless steel case. It’s a subtle distinction with a meaningful visual payoff.

A tachymeter scale rings the chapter ring, giving the watch the functional, purposeful look associated with a long line of classic racing chronographs.

The Waterbury Chronograph is paired with a matching stainless steel bracelet secured by a deployant clasp and powered by a quartz analog movement. It’s also water-resistant to 100 meters.

Pricing and availability

The Timex Waterbury Chronograph is currently available directly from Timex.com for $179, down from its regular retail price of $210.

The watch is marked as low stock on the product page, so availability may be limited. For a quartz-powered stainless steel chronograph with 100-meter water resistance and a bracelet included, the current price represents strong value in the sub-$200 range. Whether it stays there or not is hard to say, but it’s the kind of deal that tends to disappear quietly.
