Most people know Nike for running shoes and basketball sneakers. Fewer know the brand runs a dedicated tactical footwear line built in direct collaboration with US Special Operations Forces — and two of its AR 670-1-compliant boots just quietly dropped in price.

The Nike SFB Jungle 2 8″ Leather and the Nike SFB Air Field Ukiah 8″ L are both on sale now, and both clear the US Army’s strict AR 670-1 uniform standard — something the vast majority of tactical-adjacent boots on the market simply can’t claim.

What AR 670-1 compliance actually means

AR 670-1 compliance requires boots to be tan or coyote brown for OCP wear (black for service dress), constructed of leather or a leather-and-non-mesh fabric, with a rubber or polyurethane sole matching the boot color.

Both the SFB Jungle 2 and the SFB Air Field Ukiah clear every bar, which puts them on a notably short list of options.

Nike developed the SFB series with input from US Special Operations Forces during intensive field testing — and that lineage shows in the weight: these are noticeably lighter than comparable leather-upper boots at this height. Service members comparing tactical boot options have consistently flagged the SFB line for comfort over long duty days — a practical endorsement that specs alone don’t capture.

The SFB Jungle 2’s canvas-and-leather upper is rugged enough for field use while remaining polished enough for garrison wear. Its outsole uses an aggressive traction pattern engineered for jungle and tropical terrain, with drainage ports that matter when you’re moving through wet environments rather than posing for product shots.

The 8-inch shaft provides ankle support without restricting mobility — a balance that service members and veterans have noted makes the SFB line feel closer to a performance sneaker than a traditional combat boot.

The SFB Air Field Ukiah 8″ L carries different terrain priorities than the Jungle 2, optimized more for general field and dry-environment use than wet jungle conditions.

It shares the same AR 670-1-compliant construction standard and the same Special Operations lineage, but its outsole and upper composition reflect a broader range of duty environments. It also sits at a slightly higher price point than the Jungle 2.

Both boots are available for 20% directly on Nike’s site, but you’ll have to add them to your cart to see the discount price reflected. Select sizes are in stock now, yet it’s unclear how long this deal will last for.
